We’re spending more and more time in the bathroom. It’s a special place. A sanctuary. And to enjoy it, we need more space. We have more to store. Lush towels, candles, lotions and creams. So, here are some current trends in storage that will allow you to enjoy your bathroom without compromising design or space.
Hang it
The biggest continuing trend is towards wall hung storage which creates a clean, uncluttered space. Instead of big, bulky cabinets on plinths, now you can choose more sophisticated wall hung vanities or cabinets - either small or large. Hide it
You can also integrate storage into the design of the bathroom. Install shelving behind the the vanity mirror or add mirror fronted doors to tall cabinets to create light, an enhanced sense of space and hide storage. Haul it
Another major trend is the use of free standing furniture and storage in the bathroom such as mobile pedestal cabinets and tall boys. This offers flexibility but also transforms humble storage into sumptuous designer pieces.
The trick is to choose your bathroom storage as you would any other piece of furniture. It should be practical but it also should evoke the right atmosphere.
