Australian bathroom trends Colour in the bathroom

Colour has certainly made an impact in the world of bathrooms this year, having become one of the hottest international trends of the year.

From San Francisco to Sydney, colour is now being seen across a range of applications in the bathroom including walling, flooring, furniture and products. And it is not surprising that colour has crept into the bathroom. After all, there really is no better way to add life and personality to a space than with a splash of colour.

Here are five easy ways to add some colour to your bathroom.

Beautiful accessories
Installing a towel rail and some bright new fluffy towels is a fantastic way to introduce some colour to your bathroom. Match these with some coloured soaps and you will be sure to make a statement. Whether it is aqua towels to match a beach house, or some cute and colourful fish-shaped soaps for a kid’s retreat, the right accessories will bring your bathroom to life.

Styling it up
Something as simple as a posy of flowers can transform your bathroom from glum to glam. With Australians now treating their bathrooms as an extension of their living areas, we are spending as much time styling the bathroom as we would a living room. Don’t forget, the bathroom is one of those rooms that nearly every visitor to your house will see.

Update your fixtures
Introducing coloured fixtures is a perfect way to add a subtle touch of colour whilst delivering a dramatic impact. While traditionally chrome, we are now seeing tapware and accessories in stunning black. Look out for the Phoenix Liscio, Sussex Pol or Sussex Meo ranges of black tapware. Match a black basin mixer with a stark white basin to create a chic bold look.

Paint, wallpaper or tiles
Painting a feature wall is one of the most economical ways to create a fresh new look in the bathroom. You could even go all out and add some colour in the form of opulent wallpaper or tiles, both are very much in vogue.

Colourful statement piece
Create a unique focal point with a colourful statement piece of bathroom furniture – look out for the stunning red Omvivo Onda Washplane Basin. A timber piece of bathroom furniture will also add some warmth and colour.
