Getting Started

The perfect guest bathroom

Whether you are creating a dedicated guest bedroom, or you want to transform your one-and-only family bathroom into a guest-friendly haven, here are some tips to ensure you create bathing bliss for guests in your home.

No place like home
Providing guests with an area to rest their bags, good lighting for make-up touch ups and some beautiful bathing products will ensure they feel right at home. If space allows, you could install some shelving, as this will give guests a place to store their toiletries. Look out for our extensive range of bathroom furniture, such as the Posh Dominique Mirror Cabinet 600. For the perfect guest experience, leave a welcome pack of goodies on their bed, complete with a travel sized moisturiser, shampoo, conditioner and toothbrush.

Position, position, position
The guest bathroom should be placed as close to the guest bedroom as possible. It should also be close to the living areas, yet far away enough to allow some privacy. In an ideal world, the bathroom would be an ensuite, off the guest bedroom.

Be prepared for unexpected guests
Do you want to eliminate that panicky feeling that occurs when an unannounced guest is walking towards your (unclean) bathroom? Putting some time and effort into the product selection process will help you to create a low maintenance and easy-to-clean bathing environment. A back-to-wall toilet, such as the Axa Due will ensure there are no hidden spots to clean!

Perfect products
To ensure that you can offer your guests a good soak, invest in a good showerhead. Mixers are the preferred tapware as they are suitable for guests of all ages. They are particularly useful for the elderly or people with arthritis because of their easy-to-use lever handles. And don't forget the toilet - big push buttons, such as the Hideaway, are perfect inclusions in a guest bathroom.

Nice lights and night-lights
A well-designed guest bathroom features exceptionally good lighting. After all, who wants to apply make-up, or shave, in a poorly lit room? To complete the guest bathroom experience, you could even install a night-light, just to prevent any knocks that might occur during a midnight trip to an unfamiliar bathroom!
