00:13 front while you're driving here we've
00:15 got some duct tape holding the pipe onto
00:17 the racks that's illegal unsecured load
00:20 you need to use these ratchet straps
00:22 wrap them fully around and Ratchet it
00:24 off alternatively you could use these
00:27 fases but much better off using the
00:29 ratchet straps uh down the back here
00:32 again we've got what all plumbers do
00:34 some more duct tape as well completely
00:37 illegal unsecured load and at the back
00:40 pulso what all the plumbers do we see
00:43 them putting pipe got a bit of 40 mil
00:45 here inside the 100 Mil and then duct
00:47 tape off so many plumbers do that that's
00:50 totally illegal you need to put that 40
00:52 mil beside the 100 Mil wrap it
00:54 completely around and then ratchet it
00:56 off alternatively you could use that
00:58 fasty strap or you could ratchet and use
01:01 a fasted strap as well uh in the back
01:03 here you can see we've got lots of
01:05 fittings uh loose in the back uh you can
0101:09 get a f for each one of those items uh
01:12 that's all unsecured load so you got
01:15 potential to get quite a few finds there
01:17 we put all those into plastic bags just
01:22 to keep them together and then throw the
01:25 net over the
01:27 top and tie it off
01:32 so how they look at it is is if you get
01:35 pulled over they look at it as if they
01:37 turn the vehicle upside down for every
01:39 single item that falls out of the back
01:40 of the U you can get one
01:43 fine also on the back here we've got a
01:46 hot water
01:47 unit with a a rubber strap it's loose so
01:52 that's considered an unsecured load we
01:55 need to use these straps ratchet them
01:57 off make sure it's nice and firm without
01:59 damaging the water in
02:01 also we've got the pipe on the right
02:04 hand side of the vehicle here you should
02:06 never put it on the right hand side of
02:08 the vehicle you should always have it on
02:09 the left because if you pull over on the
02:11 side of the road you're going to have to
02:14 unstrap with the traffic going behind
02:16 you you're in quite a dangerous position
02:19 of getting hit by a car and hurt so put
02:22 the pipe on the left hand side of the
02:23 vehicle so you're on the curve rather
02:26 than on the traffic
02:28 side that's all

00:02 okay it's my name is Paul wood I've been
00:05 a plumber for around about 35 years near
00:09 abouts my father was a plumber working
00:11 with the guys on the school holidays and
00:12 that sort of thing
00:13 but when you first start off being a
00:15 plumber you're just thinking I hear hot
00:17 and cold water and drainage and that
00:18 sort of stuff for household in the early
00:20 days we used to do a lot of new houses
00:22 and that sort of stuff and since then
00:24 we've diversified into events and
00:27 exhibitions the industrial side of
00:28 plumbing that we're into now they're
00:30 making plastic bottles and containers in
00:32 this particular location through plastic
00:34 injection molding machines so we get
00:37 involved with chilled water lines
00:38 compress the air line gas lines in some
00:41 instances being product based around the
00:43 food industry the quality of the water
00:45 supplies and the delivery of the air
00:47 systems and stuff like that but hook on
00:49 to these machines have to be a very high
00:51 quality I always say no matter what
00:54 you're doing if you pick a particular
00:56 thing and you want to really be good at
00:58 it
00:58 you'll always do well if you're proud of
00:60 what you're doing yet you really want to
01:02 get good at it and be good at it it goes
01:03 hand in hand the work will come through
01:05 to you the old plumber with the back end
01:07 hanging out of his pants and wearing a
01:08 single it into a job site or something
01:10 like that it's gone you know we have to
01:11 present ourselves quite well now if
01:13 paying good money for what we do so they
01:14 want to see some value in how we go
01:16 about it clean around plumbing all my
01:18 life I can't see me never not being part
01:21 of the plumbing industry I enjoy the
01:23 work it's great
