One of the strongest magazines of its kind, Indesign is a one-stop shop covering architecture, interior design, product design and all the people who produce it.
"When coming up with a concept for my dream bathroom, I was drawn to the idea of a retreat. The bathroom is one of the few true retreats in today's world, a place where we can completely disconnect and relax. Chenchow Little's Freshwater House was featured in Indesign some issues ago and I've remained fascinated by the simple forms and complex timber screens. This became the starting point for the bathroom.
The other elements that were essential in realising my dream bathroom were lots of natural light, greenery, and raw materials - timber, concrete, stone, and glass - with dramatic, dark sanitaryware. Chenchow Little Architects have designed a sanctuary that allows for privacy, relaxation, and retreat."
"Mandi wanted her dream bathroom to incorporate natural materials, dark colours and a leafy outlook. We conceived the bathroom as an outdoor space, with raw concrete floors and walls and large sculptural skylights to let in natural light and views of tree canopies. Timber screens provide dappled light to the interior and privacy to the wc and the shower. The simple form and dark colours of the black "Kado Lure" bath and the "Alape Circa 450" matt black basin are the perfect centrepiece to the design. Sleek chrome fittings contrast with the dark sanitaryware and the raw texture of the concrete walls."
