Because these units are reverse cycle they have the ability to heat or cool a desired area. Some WHS have the ability to be made into a multi system where several indoor units are serviced by one outdoor unit, giving the home owner the ability to heat multiple rooms.

Gas Ducted Heater

Designed to heat your entire home a gas ducted unit sits under the floor, in the roof or externally outside the house. Gas ducted heating is available through natural gas or LPG units. Gas ducted heating systems intake air from a return air grille which is taken to the heater where it is heated. This heated air is then distributed throughout the house through a series of ducting and outlets. Once the home reaches the set temperature the unit will switch off.

Designed to cool the entire home, an evaporative cooler sits externally on a roof. An evaporative cooler draws in warm air over moistened pads to cool the air down. This cool fresh air then gets filtered through a series of ducts in the roof and gets distributed throughout outlets.

When installing an air conditioning system, it is always extremely important to get these units installed by a licensed installer. Some of these units require gas or refrigeration and it is imperative these are installed correctly with no leaks. Any unit installed by an un qualified installer will void all warranties.

The outdoor component of your split system air conditioner contains the compressor. This part of the air conditioner is responsible for heating or cooling the air before it enters into your home. It is connected to the indoor unit by a network of pipes carrying refrigerant required to heat or cool the air-conditioned air. This unit may need particular space requirements that your installer will explain in detail, but generally a well ventilated outside space near your wall mounted internal unit and large enough to comfortably house the compressor unit is what you will need to consider.
This type of air conditioner consists of a compressor unit outside the building which feeds freshly air-conditioned air through a network of vents throughout the building, maintaining the climate in all rooms simultaneously. Although very effective, ducted air conditioning units can become expensive to run. It's best to talk to a licenced installer to see if a ducted air conditioner is best for you.
Split system air conditioners
A split system air conditioner is usually mounted on a wall in a room inside your building and will feed cool air into that room. If the placement is correct, you could effectively feed that air throughout the rest of the building.

As not all air conditioning filters are the same, we recommend familiarising yourself with the owner’s manual. If your unit has not come with a hardcopy of the owner’s manual you can usually find a copy on the manufacturers website. The owner’s manual will include a regular home maintenance guide as well the part numbers and descriptions for any replacement pieces like your air filters that you might need.
