It was a big week on The Block for Robby and Matt, delivering not one, but two room reveals -- no small feat by any measure. While they didn’t quite manage to finish their guest ensuite in time, the design direction they introduced was impossible to ignore. This bathroom marked a departure from their earlier country-style approach, embracing a more refined, contemporary aesthetic that felt fresh and considered.

The new palette set the tone immediately. Soft greys paired with rich walnut tones created a calm, contemporary feel while still maintaining warmth and approachability. It’s a subtle twist on country-inspired design -- less rustic charm, more modern sophistication. The combination of hues brings contrast without being jarring, demonstrating to viewers that a thoughtfully chosen palette can completely elevate a space.

At the heart of the design is the Australian-made Milli Oria tapware in gunmetal, a high-end, luxurious touch that adds both depth and drama. It’s a perfect example of the hi-low story at work: accessible core pieces paired with premium accents create a designer feel that doesn’t need to shout. Even unfinished, these elements hint at the elevated vision Robby and Matt had for the ensuite.

Finishing touches -- well, those are still on the way -- but the foundations are already impressive. The Posh Domaine vanity complements the Kado Neue Arch mirror, both featuring gently rounded edges that add harmony and flow to the room. Together, they create a cohesive and inviting layout that balances elegance with usability.

Even in its unfinished state, Robby and Matt’s guest ensuite is a glimpse into a bold new direction. With its calming palette, luxurious gunmetal tapware, and thoughtfully paired fixtures, it shows that even challenges on reveal week can’t stop great design from shining through.
