Thermann X Split Heat Pump Water Heater Outdoor Unit

Identification: Affected heat pumps are identified with a THP45 model number.
The units may have also been supplied as THP45x160, THP45x250, THP45x315 or THP45x400.
The model number of the heat pump water heater unit can be found on the data label located on the side of the unit, next to the plastic cover.

All THP45 units purchased nationally from Reece stores or supplied by Reece between 28th October 2021 - 23 September 2024 are affected. Other Thermann products are not affected.
Defect: If the plastic cover on the side of the unit is removed to operate the push buttons on the controller board, there is a risk of electrical injury from accidental contact with the nearby live mains electrical terminals.
Hazard: Risk of electric shock.
What should I do? You can continue to use your unit as normal, however please do not remove the plastic cover on the side of the unit or attempt to operate the controller board push buttons.

Please contact Reece using the information below to arrange for an authorised Reece service agent to provide a free on-site remediation service. This will involve fitting a sheet metal cover over the electrical terminals that allows safe access to the push buttons.

Again, please do not remove the plastic cover on the side of the unit or attempt to operate the controller board push buttons until the service is performed. Opening the plastic cover should only be carried out by a qualified person, even after the service is complete.
