Peace of mind is built-in
Exposed wire fittings, longer coupling lengths and smart welder technology make FRIATEC the safe choice for electrofusion.

Friatec
FRIATEC has been a pioneer of electrofusion fittings since the 1970s and continues to set the standard that others follow. An intense focus on quality drives the production of a wide range of products for the world’s most demanding applications.

FRIATEC electrofusion fittings
FRIATEC’s electrofusion fittings are backed by German engineering and designed for reliable performance. The fittings are available in sizes up to 1200mm in diameter and with multiple pressure ratings. The range includes various couplers, elbows and adaptors, and the red snap tapping tee—known for making live tapping faster and easier than traditional bolted tees.
FRIATEC preparation tools
Pipe preparation is key when completing a secure electrofusion weld. That’s why FRIATEC support each step of the process with scrapers to suit a range of sizes.

FRIAMAT electrofusion welders
FRIAMAT welders are designed to make electrofusion simple. Just scan the fitting and the welder automatically adjusts all settings to ensure a consistent weld. What’s more, FRIAMAT welders include Bluetooth connectivity, allowing integration with the Workflow app for hassle-free scanning and documentation.
Pioneering electrofusion
00:02 my name is Jurgen Schmidt I'm the
00:05 international sales manager for
00:06 electrofusion fittings working for free
00:08 at a kg in Germany what has been founded
00:11 as a manufacturer of clay pipes and
00:13 brick yards in the eighteen sixty-three
00:16 as definitely over the years turned out
00:18 to be the world's largest manufacturer
00:20 of electrofusion fittings worldwide we
00:23 followed the trend in the early 50s
00:25 towards corrosion resistant and plastic
00:27 materials and phreatic was the innovator
00:31 and first manufacturer of electrofusion
00:33 fittings in the early 70s our free
00:36 Elaine electrofusion fittings have been
00:38 manufactured at the Mannheim slide since
00:40 the early 1970s Manheim is located 60 to
00:43 80 kilometers southwest of Frankfurt we
00:47 produce our fittings on 300 350 thousand
00:50 square meters of production side and we
00:53 employ in Mannheim about 850 people our
00:57 fittings are so to more than 70
00:58 countries worldwide and we sell our
01:01 fittings towards the gas utilities water
01:04 utilities and sewage companies and of
01:07 course we are proud to be here now
01:08 together with Vinnie dicks and to start
01:10 a new chapter for us in the Australian
01:12 market we have for sure the most
01:14 comprehensive range of fittings among
01:17 all our competitors and we have numerous
01:20 benefits that will help you also to
01:23 install our fittings properly in the in
01:26 the trenches so just the name with you
01:29 we have the widest fusion zones of all
01:32 electrofusion fittings we have the
01:33 longest insurgent F we have the most
01:36 competitive or most comprehensive
01:38 product range we have exposed wiring
01:40 with unique benefits for the
01:43 installation with our renounce
01:45 application engineers we offer worldwide
01:48 a second to none service on the building
01:51 sites to give you the utmost or best
01:54 service that is available in the
01:56 industry
00:04 hi I'm Andrew and I'm here to introduce
00:07 you to the frech red snap tapping tea
00:10 the red snap tapping tea has been
00:12 designed to do one thing making live
00:14 tapping into PE as fast and easy as
00:17 possible with the red snap tapping tea
00:20 there are no bolts or fastenings meaning
00:22 gone are the days of taking Allen keys
00:24 to your next tapping
00:26 job after completing the correct pipe
00:28 preparation simply secure the strap and
00:31 snap the red handle home snap tap done
00:35 now you're ready to
00:43 weld once you finished simply remove the
00:46 strap and handle for a cleaner easier
00:49 back fill the red snap tapping te also
00:52 has some additional features like a
00:54 double length off take which means if
00:56 you don't get it right on the first try
00:57 there's still plenty of off take left
00:59 for a second try a weldable spindle
01:01 housing means the red snap tea can be
01:03 made completely sealed which eliminates
01:06 any chance of leaks and of course it
01:09 wouldn't be a free attch fitting without
01:11 the signature exposed wires which means
01:13 a faster heat transfer and a faster
01:15 cooling time saving you time and energy
01:18 now let's compare the frech red snap
01:21 tapping tea with a traditional bolted
01:23 tea to see just how fast and easy it is
01:25 to
01:26 install first we'll complete the correct
01:29 pipe preparation
01:35 and then we'll see just how fast and
01:37 easy the frech red snap tapping tea is
01:39 to
01:40 install now we'll install the te's a
01:44 traditional Bolter tea is on the left
01:46 and the frech red snap tapping tea is on
01:48 the right
01:51 [Music]
02:10 so there you have it the fre Tech red
02:12 snap tapping tea is faster and easier
02:14 than a traditional bolted tea so talk to
02:17 your local Rees team today to find out
02:19 more
00:03 in the 70s mainly a PE way use PE pipes
00:07 and fittings were used for the gas
00:08 industry but in the meantime we have a
00:11 lot of more applications running in the
00:13 field like pressure applications for
00:16 water for sewage irrigation projects are
00:19 coming a lot and more and more
00:21 industrial projects as well to do the
00:23 high resistance from PE against
00:25 chemicals assets and so on at the end if
00:28 you know the step how to use it's really
00:31 an easy job because we have all the
00:33 equipment with us you have a kind of
00:35 scraper tool you have wipes to clean the
00:37 scraped area you have markings to bring
00:39 the pipe close together and of course
00:42 you have now really good welders which
00:44 carry out the welding automatically
00:47 doing by barcode reading there's no
00:49 influence of the welder for the for the
00:52 joint at the end the main benefits of
00:54 the free Allen electro fusion system is
00:56 the expose the uncovered heating coils
00:59 the laying of the cords which is going
01:02 beyond the standard in the standard they
01:03 are just minimum parameter given
01:05 phreatic is going with the fuel and
01:07 safety feelings beyond the standard we
01:09 have a wide cold zone as well to cool
01:12 down the molded material after welding
01:14 and of course everything is equipped
01:17 with a barcode here yeah this makes it
01:19 easier to carry out the welding without
01:21 any mistakes phreatic working since from
01:24 the beginning with exposed heating horns
01:26 because we want to directly in touch
01:27 with the pipe we have to melt the pipe
01:29 together we don't melt our own material
01:32 in between so we are quite fast in
01:34 preaching the gap in between the pipe
01:36 and the fitting to create a melt
01:38 pressure very very fast and of course
01:41 therefore we are closing the gaps which
01:43 coming up from misalignment on the pipe
01:45 from oval ization in the pipe and it's
01:48 exactly the big benefit of the phreatic
01:49 uncovered heating coils the second
01:52 benefit it's also very important
01:54 especially due to the high UV radiation
01:57 in Australia we cannot build up any
01:60 oxidation layer in between like on the
02:02 pipe so it's no possibility to create an
02:05 oxidation layer inside the fitting like
02:08 most of our competitors do the fitting
02:10 is produced in two step first where the
02:13 injection molding playing here and in
02:15 the second step we embed
02:16 while with the process where we do not
02:18 remove any material we just press the
02:21 wire in so that the wires are in 2/3 of
02:24 the diameter embedded in the fitting
02:26 there's no chance to damage the wire
02:28 during the installation process that's
02:30 the reason we're free attack allows for
02:32 example for the bigger size cups of cup
02:34 loss with a heavy way to install them
02:36 also by using a tool like a hammer
02:38 something like else we are not afraid
02:40 using the wire with that installation
02:43 process of course all the range is
02:45 tested according national international
02:48 standard for example iso standard or
02:50 here locally in the australian market is
02:52 the AAS and set 41 to 9 standard which
02:56 we have to follow but to be honest all
02:58 the standards are given just minimum
02:60 requirements and phreatic go beyond the
03:03 standard to help the customer a little
03:04 bit with the wider fusion zone with the
03:06 huge cold zone in the fitting to use the
03:09 coupler on field as well without any
03:11 problems
03:13 and of course we are take has all the
03:16 important approvals we attack as company
03:18 as well as the product has all approved
03:21 for the Australian market available also
03:23 for the bigger sizes all phreatic
03:25 couplers are equipped with the anchor
03:27 but with the exposed heating coils and
03:29 as you can see here we under ectly
03:31 contact after sampling the pipe with a
03:33 pipe surface to ensure the proper
03:36 homogeneous joint but also very
03:38 important for the bigger size coupler is
03:40 the very long cold zone to work with the
03:43 shrink we were at PI band as well with
03:45 the embedded situation where we have to
03:47 cut out a piece of pipe and to bring in
03:49 a new one the guys inside are not able
03:52 to bring them together in 100% and if
03:54 this gap between the PI bond is located
03:56 in the center of the cold zone doesn't
03:59 matter
03:59 no bad influence of the welding all
04:02 couplers starting from the diameter 400
04:05 are equipped with additional yellow bar
04:07 code so called the preheat barcode with
04:10 our uncovered heating codes we are able
04:12 wire a dead barcode to heat up the part
04:14 first closing the gap between the pipe
04:17 and the feeding and then with a standard
04:20 white barcode we carry out the fusion
04:22 process therefore very helpful is the
04:25 outer reinforcement there's another
04:27 winding around the coupler which
04:29 helped us to stabilize the coupler
04:31 during the welding process to avoid
04:33 expanding of the coupler during the
04:36 welding important this is the pipe
04:38 inside the coupler starts to a ponding
04:40 throughout the coupler
04:41 but the coupler should be stable during
04:44 the welding process that's exactly what
04:46 we insure and phreatic is the only one
04:48 sitting who can handle it without an
04:50 external reinforcement we can do that
04:53 with our built in reinforcement easily
00:03 besides the coupler a full range of
00:06 readings it's also important to have the
00:07 right tools the end of the product makes
00:10 no sense to over 900 mini coupler to the
00:13 customer and do not have the right
00:15 fusion box to handle that long fusion
00:17 time and that's the reason why free eye
00:18 tech is a one-stop shop we offer you the
00:21 completely tools to carry out a proper
00:23 joint without any issues that means we
00:25 have a dedicated range here of scraper
00:27 tools available starting from the
00:29 diameter and 20 millimeter up to 1.2
00:32 meter for every application there's a
00:34 scraper tool they're the same for the
00:36 boxes these tiny box can handle couplers
00:39 from 20 up to 900 mil without
00:42 interruption diffusion to to cool down
00:44 or something like that
00:46 due to the converter technology here and
00:48 the freedom at prime or basic we have
00:50 active cooling system can cover a long
00:53 fusion time without any issues
00:55 especially under the high temperatures
00:57 in the summertime in Australia is a big
01:00 advantage for the customer there's no
01:02 waiting time for cool down the machine
01:04 because the machine is equipped with
01:06 active cooling system all the welders
01:08 are equipped with a 10m block that means
01:11 we can handle easily all the generators
01:14 outside in the field and of course it's
01:16 very light the machine here just with a
01:18 weight of 12 kilo can be handled it from
01:21 side to side very very easily
01:23 let's also pick advantage for the
01:25 customer the machine do not have any
01:27 transformer inside is a pure electronic
01:29 inverter technology and therefore it's
01:32 very very light the machine and powerful
01:34 just when explained I was grabbed a tool
01:37 FWS G 2 2 5 which works for all
01:40 diameters starting from the diameter 75
01:43 up to 2 to 5 for all the pipes and as
01:46 they are 17 STR 21 and sta 11 as well
01:50 the scraper tool first we have to go for
01:54 the insertion depth of the pipe we have
01:56 a 180 ml pipe here we have different
01:59 marks here on the rod where we can
02:01 identify the 180 ml easily bring the
02:04 plate in the right position and then we
02:07 can slide the machine over the pipe
02:10 easily
02:26 and the result after scraping is all the
02:29 same for the phreatic square bar tools
02:30 we have endless swath which guarantee is
02:33 a proper shape shaving around around the
02:36 pipe of around a complete pipe and
02:38 that's a let me say most important step
02:42 for carry out the electro fusion showing
02:44 the proper removal of the oxidation
02:46 layer
00:03 I just want to give you briefly overview
00:05 about the lack of fusion process what's
00:07 going on - and the electrical fusion
00:09 what is electro fusion and that's just
00:11 briefly explained here with the two
00:13 pipes and a good freelance safety
00:15 fittings at the end our aim is to create
00:18 a home machine and joint without any
00:20 rubber ceilings without any gaskets in
00:23 between a pure homogeneous material
00:26 joined together from the pipe and the
00:28 fitting at the end we have poly pipes
00:31 available for pressure and pressure less
00:32 applications mainly our fittings used
00:35 for pressure application for gas water
00:37 and sewage we have fear fittings
00:39 available equipped with a bar code after
00:42 assembling the fitting to the pipes we
00:44 read in the bar code with the fusion box
00:46 we carry out the fusion parameters
00:48 waiting for cooling time and then the
00:50 joint is finished create a kiss to world
00:52 biggest manufacturer of electro fusion
00:55 join our guests for his customer the
00:57 best contact to carry out a safe and
00:59 proper jointing
00:02 just want to explain you briefly the
00:05 most important installation steps to
00:06 carry out the proper joint of course we
00:09 have to take care for the pipe cut that
00:11 the pipe cut isn't a right 90-degree
00:14 angle to the pipe axis as we have here
00:18 then we have to sign the half length of
00:21 the coupler if you use a coupler like
00:23 that the standard coupler it's a half
00:26 length of the coupler to sign a bit more
00:28 to see afterwards that it's scraped
00:35 that's it
00:37 second side as well here we are
00:41 and now is the most important step to
00:44 scrape the pipe over the whole length of
00:46 the pipe surface of course we can do
00:49 that in the traditional old way using a
00:52 hand scraper carrying out that process
00:54 but it's not let me say it's it's a
00:57 highly risk to do that especially
00:59 underneath where the joiners cannot look
01:02 through there's a high risk that you do
01:04 not remove the completely surface in a
01:07 proper way and that can create a leakage
01:10 easily and that's the reason we're free
01:11 okay there's a dedicated range of
01:13 scraper tools like this steam machine
01:16 here we have here a diameter related
01:20 scraper tool available of course it's a
01:22 machine these tools are available from
01:25 the diameter 63 up to three one part
01:27 three one five millimeter and it's quite
01:30 easy you can slide it here over to to
01:34 use it for the pipe ends as well as for
01:37 saddled connection directly in the
01:39 center of the pipe you just clip it here
01:43 onto the onto the pipe and slide it
01:46 around until you reach your mark that's
01:55 it you remove the machine and at the end
01:60 to resolve this endless Wharf like that
02:03 and so you're sure that are scraping to
02:05 place all around the pipe which is very
02:08 very important of course the second pipe
02:11 must be prepared in the same way
02:14 here we are so and that's the whole
02:24 scraping process at the end next step is
02:29 to set the mark exactly to the halfling
02:33 of the cobbler this mark is very very
02:35 important to ensure that the bride has a
02:38 right insertion cleaning pipe and
02:49 fittings by using wipes which already
02:54 covered with I so broke
02:56 which remove the dirt sand and dust from
02:59 the pipe and the fitting and just clean
03:08 this great area that's it wait until the
03:17 cleaners evaporate very important before
03:21 you start assembling pipe and fitting
03:23 together slide pipe and fitting together
03:28 until you reach the marks here and
03:31 that's it make sure that the pipe and
03:35 the fitting do not have any misalignment
03:37 like like that yeah straighten up a
03:40 little bit to avoid some some stress in
03:43 the connection during the welding
03:44 process so all three of my boxes are
03:51 equipped with four millimeter connectors
03:55 here but I also adapt available up to
03:58 four point seven millimeters to handle
04:00 competitor fittings so we connect in
04:03 which direction doesn't matter directly
04:06 to the fitting we have the possibility
04:09 here for barcode reader and with this
04:14 barcode reader here we bring all the
04:18 necessary information into the Box the
04:21 barcode is related to ISO standard which
04:24 makes sure
04:25 that our box can handle competitive
04:28 fittings as the other way around our
04:30 fitting can be welded with competitor
04:32 boxes who are able or who are equipped
04:35 with a barcode reader first of all we
04:37 have to switch on the machine now we
04:39 have to read in the barcode sometimes a
04:42 bit tricky you need some help sometimes
04:44 maybe but the easy thing is hold it like
04:47 a pen like you would like to make a
04:48 drawing over the whole barcode and then
04:51 the machine will read the barcode
04:53 immediately and if you hear the sound
04:56 the barcode is in the barcode parameter
04:58 is showing it's popping up in the
05:01 display exactly explain us which coupler
05:05 is waiting for the welding and the only
05:07 thing what we have to do now is push in
05:10 the start bottom here two times in the
05:15 last third of the welding the both
05:17 welding indicators popping up showing if
05:20 there's some energy running around which
05:23 is a good sign directly after the fusion
05:32 is finished we can remove the connectors
05:34 we can remove the box and can go ahead
05:37 for the Negin second joint next joint
05:40 write down the parameter welding time
05:44 forty one second and the time to cool
05:50 down we have for this small fitting
05:53 sixty three mil a cooling down of seven
05:55 seven minutes which we have to wait
05:57 before we go ahead with they are moving
05:60 the pipe something like that this forty
06:03 one second what we get is according the
06:05 ambient temperature with our barcode
06:08 technology including the temperature
06:10 compensation the machine said always the
06:14 right welding time due to the ambient
06:16 temperature that means with easy words
06:18 is it cooler than twenty degree ambient
06:21 temperature we have a bit additional
06:23 time if it's warmer than twenty degree
06:25 ambient temperature we have a less
06:28 welding time and that will be calculated
06:31 automatically by the barcode including
06:33 the machine and so we are sure that we
06:35 have for the right ambient temperature
06:37 the right welding time which is very
06:39 very important especially in summertime
The FRIATEC difference

Exposed wire fittings
FRIATEC’s exposed heating coil design ensures stronger, faster welds that eliminate the risk of contamination through oxidation. Coils are embedded and cannot be dislodged, enabling excellent gap bridging and the ideal heat penetration for a precise seal, every time.

Longer coupling lengths
FRIATEC fittings feature larger fusion zones, to absorb energy and offer improved safety and stability. 2.7 times longer than standard, they give you better pipe support, improved alignment inside the fitting, less bending stress and a larger insertion depth at each end.

Smart welder technology
Create real-time, environment-based and fully-documented welds using Workflow—the smart, all-in-one digital system for efficient pipe laying. By making the process more automated, reliable and traceable, any errors are easy to spot and resolve.
