Ex Financial Advisor Victoria Devine Shares Her Bathroom Reno Tips and Tricks

Q: You’ve just renovated your bathroom. What’s your biggest piece of advice for someone starting their own?
Victoria: Start by investing in quality pieces. I was really impressed by the Posh range when I visited Reece. If you’re unsure where to start, take a few inspiration photos or a Pinterest board into your closest Reece showroom. Q: What’s your number one must-have in a bathroom?
Victoria: Okay I’m cheating a bit here because it’s technically two things... but both are about storage. I am an absolute hoarder and with a toddler (shout out to Harvey) the need for space is real. The deep drawers in my Posh Domaine vanity are incredible. They glide open so smoothly and make it easy to grab what I need. Plus, face-level storage has totally leveled up my morning routine. I can get ready without rummaging through baskets or cupboards.
Oh, and something I didn’t think of before but now couldn’t live without? Integrated power points inside the storage unit. It keeps things neat and lets me charge my electric toothbrush or shaver out of sight.

Q: Did you design the bathroom yourself, or did Reece help with that?
Victoria: I had a pretty clear idea of the look I wanted, something coastal, light and fresh. While Reece don’t do the building side of things, they were amazing at helping me bring my Pinterest board to life with their product range. I gave them my inspo and must-haves, and they helped me choose pieces that aligned with both. The Posh collection had so many options, with the multiple Posh Solus configurations, I was able to get a freestanding style bath into both bathrooms. The entire Posh range gave me the design freedom I wanted. It was pretty much a one-stop shop, and I was done!

Q: Was everything from Reece? And can they supply tiles and glass too?
Victoria: Pretty much the whole bathroom was from Reece. While they don’t do tiles, they do have an amazing range of glass shower screens. I went with the Kado Lux shower screens and I’m obsessed. I love that soft curve design and how the frames match my tapware. It’s those small details that really bring the whole space together.

Q: How long did the whole process take from start to finish?
Victoria: The bathroom product side was actually really quick which surprised me. The Posh range is well stocked, so all my selections were delivered within the week. Obviously with renovations there can be hold-ups in other areas, but Reece were ahead of the game. Having everything arrive on time made it much easier for my tradies to keep things moving.

Q: Let’s talk money. As someone who’s helped thousands of Australians manage their finances, what’s your approach to budgeting for a reno?
Victoria: My biggest tip is start with a clear number in mind and be realistic. Renovations can add up quickly if you don’t keep an eye on the details. Remember that selecting quality, stylish pieces doesn’t always need to break the bank. The Posh range is such great value and doesn’t look or feel budget at all. You don’t need to overspend to get a premium finish.
Also, plan for a small buffer in your budget. Unexpected things come up, especially in older homes. But if you’ve done your research and have a good team, you can absolutely stay on track.
