VEECs are the Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates awarded by the VEU for energysaving activities. These certificates can be traded on a market.

Eligible upgrade scenarios for air conditioning activities include the installation and commissioning of an approved high efficiency air conditioner with multiple decommissioning options of existing installations or no decommissioning.

  • 6(i) Replacing hard-wired electric room heater (no refrigerative air conditioner)
  • 6(ii) Replacing hard-wired electric room heater and refrigerative air conditioner
  • 6(iii) Replacing central electric resistance heater or slab heater (no refrigerative air conditioner)
  • 6(iv) Replacing central electric resistance heater/slab heater and refrigerative air conditioner
  • 6(v) Replacing ducted reverse cycle air conditioner
  • 6(vi) Replacing non-ducted reverse cycle air conditioner
  • 6(vii) Replacing ducted gas heater only (no refrigerative air conditioner)
  • 6(viii) Replacing ducted gas heater and refrigerative air conditioner
  • 6(ix) Replacing non-ducted gas heater only (no refrigerative air conditioner)
  • 6(x) Replacing non-ducted gas heater and refrigerative air conditioner

After signing up with Greenbank, you will gain access to the Greenbank platform and installer app. This allows you to start calculating, processing, and claiming rebates on your eligible installations.

No, Reece partners with Greenbank, which supports the installing company in claiming rebates on behalf of the end user. The VEU requires information such as photos and signatures from the site to process this rebate.

Greenbank, as the rebate aggregator, will pay the person or entity nominated on the application. If claiming on behalf of the end user, Greenbank can pay the rebate directly to them.

Yes, part of the VEU requirements is a copy of the valid tax invoice for the work completed. The invoice must include:

  • Name, address, and AB of the upgrade manager and the installing refrigeration company
  • ACN of the end user/energy consumer
  • Date of invoice
  • Installation address
  • Name, address, and ABN of the upgrade manager business
  • Itemised list of installed cold room parts, including brand(s) and model(s).

Yes, since the VEU regularly changes the number of certificates generated for an activity and the market price of VEECs can fluctuate.

Greenbank aims to process and pay applications within 14 business days.

You need to capture and provide the following:

  • Compliance documents including Electrical Certificate of Compliance and VBA Compliance Certificate
  • Geotagged photos
  • Recycling evidence
  • Decomissioning and disposal requirements
  • Required signatures
